Twitter, the Knight and the trojan… PDF Print E-mail

The real power of Twitter is in the people you meet. It is a means to meet people, and it will be as good as the people you manage to create a relationship with.

Yesterday, I had a stupidity attack and opened a trojan that came inside an email. To the internet I went, looking for a solution and couldn’t find anything really trustworthy… Installed and ran a couple of things, but none of this really made me feel safe.

Then, I remembered this guy… we used to have fun and talk some time ago in Twitter, SirWumpus. He has a quest against spam and unwanted advertising; he is a Knight of the XXI century, proud and strong… the sweetest thing.

Besides having those cute, deep eyes…  He happens to be the developer and owner of one of the most powerful antispam systems available to date, Snertsof. He takes his ideas to such an extreme that he actually doesn’t market his product (which is absolutely awesome) as much as he should.

Yesterday, I was reading The Financial Times and found an interesting article that made me run to check all my niche sites and blogs, looking for dark corners...

Here is the thing: the Federal Trade Commission is fed up and putting the foot down on what they call false or misleading advertising.

Here is the quote:

"Revised guidelines on endorsements and testimonials by the Federal Trade Commission, now under review and expected to be adopted, would hold companies liable for untruthful statements made by bloggers and users of social networking sites who receive samples of their products.

The guidelines would also hold bloggers liable for the statements they make about products."

Last Friday, I decided to do a special #followfriday with hot guys from my friends' list.

Among them, I chose John Hays, he is a shy low profile hottie with lots of tricks up his sleeve as you are going to see now... ;)

He thanked me and added that my effort was not going to give much results as I had started the tweet with @hisname.

What?? it really puzzled me: what was he talking about?

So we started a very fun conversation where I was trying to make him understand that it didn't make sense and he was trying to make me understand how it worked... lol
